When new Soul Reapers and a new enemy appear, Ichigo goes into the battlefield with his Zanpakuto to protect his hometown of Karakura and those in need. The Soul Society meanwhile has seen a sudden surge in the number of Hollows being destroyed in the World of the Living, along with separate reports of residents in the Rukon District having gone missing. The Seireitei, home of the Soul Reapers, is finally attacked by a mysterious group called the Wandenreich, led by Yhwach, the father of all Quincies, they declare war against the Soul Reapers. For Ichigo Kurosaki his final battle begins.
