Trevor Alvord (curator, BYU Library), Sharolyn Swenson (cataloger, BYU Library), and Dainan Skeem (curator, BYU Library) explore the history and cultural influence of the Captain Canuck comics, its creator Richard Comely, and the efforts of Brigham Young University Special Collections to preserve Comely's work and the importance of building library comic collections. The panel will conclude with a discussion on developing an exhibit celebrating Captain Canuck's 50th anniversary, highlighting how the Canadian-themed comic fostered a sense of belonging and connection among students.
