Success in Creativity Mixer: Meet Other Creatives and Get Time with the Experts
Friday March 27, 2026 3:00pm - 4:00pm PDT
This mixer brings together creatives from across television and film, animation, podcasts, cosplay, fan groups, music, illustration, blogging, writing, and comics to connect with peers both within and outside their own fields. Attendees can network across disciplines to find collaborators whose skills support every stage of a project, from creation through promotion and marketing. The event also offers dedicated one-on-one time with experts from the Success in Creativity panels—including Luke Cheesman, James Frye, Ron Coleman, Ph.D., Renah Wolzinger, Ed.D., Stephen Burns, Marsia Powers, Batt Rivera, Gene Turnbow, and Topher Davila—who can address questions on topics ranging from digital art, writing, and podcasting to management, accounting, taxes, event planning, and more. Attendees receive resource postcards drawn from past panels and have a chance to win a One by Wacom tablet. Bringing business cards or contact information is recommended to make the most of the networking opportunities.

Comic Pitch Review Friday
Friday March 27, 2026 5:00pm - 6:00pm PDT
Most creators have no trouble coming up with great ideas for new comics, but they often struggle to speak clearly and concisely about those ideas to other people. Giving a good pitch is a vital skill in bringing your project to life. Fortunately, it's also a skill you can learn and improve with practice—and Pitch Review is a great place to do that. If you're someone who wants to get better at pitching your work (and especially if you're a writer or artist attending the Comic Creator Connection immediately after this event), this is your chance to practice giving your pitch and get some invaluable help from a professional writer and speaker coach. Pitch reviews will be conducted by Douglas Neff, a professional speechwriter, speaker coach, and host of the Comic Creator Connection. This is not a typical panel. These are three- to five-minute individual coaching sessions for as many people as can be accommodated in the scheduled time. Spaces are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, and everyone is welcome to watch and learn from the sessions.

Comic Creator Connection Friday
Friday March 27, 2026 7:00pm - 9:00pm PDT
Are you a writer with a great idea for a comic book series, but you can't draw? Or maybe you're an artist looking to illustrate an incredible story, but you can't write. WonderCon is proud to once again host the Comic Creator Connection, a fast-paced networking event that puts writers and artists together to help them meet new creative partners. Here's how it works: In a two-hour period, writers and artists will sit down across from each other at a table. (And by artists, we mean pencillers, inkers, colorists, etc.—all are welcome!) Then, in five-minute sessions, you will talk one-on-one with each other about your ideas and skills. At the end of each five-minute period, you will get up and move on to the next person. If you're interested in furthering the conversation, you'll exchange contact information. Think of it as speed-dating but for writers and artists! Pro Tip: The room often fills up, so come early for the best chance at getting in. Seating begins at 6:45 PM.

Mixer for Science-Minded Geeks
Sunday March 29, 2026 3:00pm - 5:00pm PDT
Got a science question? This informal mixer invites attendees to ask anything, and a group of friendly scientists will be ready with speculative answers. Among all the pop culture fans at WonderCon, there are plenty of scientists on hand this year. Everyone is welcome, and there is no such thing as a stupid question. What might life be like in a galaxy far, far away? Could gamma radiation produce a Hulk? What would it take for a lion king to sing? Scientists from groups such as Cosplay for Science, Nerd Nite Orange County, and AAAS If/Then ambassadors are ready to talk about how things work in our favorite fandoms. Attendees can mingle with these science-minded folks in a fun, informal setting.
